Alps-Adriatic LAGs met again in Đurđevac

On the 15th and 16th of September 2016 Local Action Groups (LAGs) which cooperate within the EU-LEADER-program have met again for an Alps-Adriatic workshop in Đurđevac (Koprivnica Križevci County/Croatia).

This year, the workshop was titled “AAA Leader – The role of local action groups in rural development”. The workshop is part of a project co-financed by the Alps-Adriatic-Alliance and Koprivnica Križevci County, which brings together representatives of LAGs with the aim to promote partnerships between representatives of public authorities and the civil and economic sectors in rural areas. The project coordinator is LAG Podravina, and the partners are ten LAGs from Austria, Slovenia, Hungary and Croatia.

The meeting of LAGs in Đurđevac was held for the second year in a row, and this year the focus was on the recognition, protection and presentation of intangible cultural heritage for tourism purposes. The goal is to prepare a joint EU-co-financed project among the LAGs.

The workshop was opened by the president of LAG Podravina Mr. Branko Sobota, the managing director Mrs. Mihaela Lončar and the Head of Department for international cooperation and European funds of Koprivnica Križevci County, Mr. Vladimir Šadek.
